Author and National Book Award finalist Sy Montgomery has always had a strong affinity to animals. She traveled the world doing research on many species and she found special connections with quite a few. She believes she learned deep life lessons from her animal friends: compassion, dealing with grief, loyalty and trust. Several of her companions were beloved dogs, two of them being abused rescues. A tiny piglet named Christopher was almost like Sy's child and became the pet of the neighborhood as he grew to 750 pounds. Sy befriended an octopus, a tarantula, tree kangaroos, and emus. Their stories are varied and interesting, all of them helping Sy to become the 'good creature' they all were.

This sounds completely delightful and I have also wanted to read Soul of an Octopus ever since I heard of it. I love octopuses 🐙 - they are so incredibly smart.
I heard about this book late last year and was so intrigued that it was an immediate add to my TBR. Great to hear you enjoyed it and makes me want to read it even more now!
