I'm afraid I've only got two authors on the list, Jack Vance and Will Macmillan JonesWhich might tell you about how assiduous I am in actually putting books on the list as anything else :-)

I haven't even bothered to look because I know I'm in a similar predicament to Jim.
My real list is:
Terry Pratchett
Jim
Will Macmillan Jones
Barry Hutcheson
I also read First Light, which is the most wonderful book and am reading a number of other biographies by ww2 aces because there's nothing like reading a first hand account of a dogfight to improve your snurd chases!
Cheers
MTM
1 J.R. Rain 292 Cecilia Peartree 28
3 M.A. Comley 20
3 Gemma Halliday 20
5 Sibel Hodge 19
I must admit I'm surprised those numbers are so high. I can't abide Rain any more.
M.T. wrote: "I also read First Light, which is the most wonderful book and am reading a number of other biographies by ww2 aces because there's nothing like reading a first hand account of a dogfight to improve your snurd chases!..."yes, one of my excuses for reading so much history is that it gives you a feel for how a different world works, which is important if you're writing fantasy :-)
My most reads:1 Bernard Cornwell 27
2 David Hadley 25
3 Stephen King 16
4 William Shakespeare 15
4 Sean Platt 15
4 Terry Pratchett 15
If we discount the git at number 2, then I could include
Graham Masterton 12
Slightly surprising...1 Lindsey Davis
3 Poul Anderson
3 James A. Michener
5 Anne McCaffrey
5 Lindsay Buroker
5 Elly Griffiths
I also had some unmentionable person at number 2, David, but I deleted her!
I obviously put a lot of Poul Anderson and James Michener books on the list when I first joined, because I haven't read anything from either this century! But yes, I used to enjoy them a lot. I expected the other four to show up :)
MT McGuire comes in at number 27, alongside Bernard Cornwell among others (but then I haven't listed all the Sharpe books)
Jemima wrote: "I also had some unmentionable person at number 2, David, but I deleted her!"I would have deleted mine, but being a number 2 seems apt somehow.
Anyway, he knows where I live.

lol True, I read her books more often than anyone else's!
I think my top 5 more reflects which books I've remembered to add to Goodreads.1 Diana Wynne Jones 32
2 Catherynne M. Valente 19
3 Elizabeth Bowen 11
4 Gene Wolfe 10
5 Ursula K. Le Guin 9
1 Agatha Christie 692 Terry Pratchett 40
3 J.K. Rowling 15
4 Philippa Gregory 14
5 Kathy Reichs 13
6 Darren Humphries 12
1. J.K. Rowling2. Lesley Pearse
3. Gregory Maguire
These are all authors I read a long time ago. I tend to have more variety in my reading nowadays.
My top is Jim Webster. That's because he produces frequent novellas rather than infrequent novels! All my top 10 are indies.
Kath wrote: "My top is Jim Webster. That's because he produces frequent novellas rather than infrequent novels! All my top 10 are indies."Funnily enough, even as I clicked on the link I was wondering whether prolificacy rather than quality was a measure of success in this field :-)
I can quite see Agatha Christie being hard to overtake in the list of somebody who likes her stories :-)
Mine isn't entirely accurate - according to it, I've only read 5 Agatha Christies. Of these 5 though, I have books by 4 of them to read this year. 1 - Stephen King
2 - James Patterson
3 - M A Comley
4 - Patricia Cornwell
5 - Dean Koontz
I went through most of Agatha Christie's books one year as my yearly challenge. The same for Terry Pratchett's Discworld series
My most read included Ellis Peters and Terry Pratchett. And several others who are still writing so no doubt they would overtake those two. There are hundreds of books that I haven't entered such as all the Agatha Christie and Catherine Cookson that I read in my teens but they are not ones that I would choose to read now so they would be higher up the list than if I listed only current favourites. And Goodreads have announced a few hours ago that they will be removing this list

They say the near future but apparently it has already gone.

I hope the most read feature does return. Maybe I'm a bit weird, but I liked to see which authors where climbing the leaderboard of my read books 😂
