I can't wait to find out how things managed to go so wrong with Verity and Jeremy's family, I don't trust either of them at all. Also, the nurse's comment about Lowen's age was shady AF, she's totally is in on whatever is really going on here. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[Oh yeah that thought definitely crossed my mind too. That seems almost too obvious though, I'm starting to wonder about Jeremy's side of the story because right now he seems too straightforward and so far has been portrayed as too perfect by both the story and Verity.

I mean obviously she harbours a lot of resentment towards him but him loving his children too much isn't exactly something that paints him in a negative light, even if he was neglecting his wife's feelings. (hide spoiler)]

I feel like either this will be a (near) perfect 5 star read, or I'll absolutely despise it, depending on how the story ends and how Verity ends up being portrayed. I have very strong opinions about the topics being addressed here so it it'll probably be one of the extremes.

I'm totally going to finish this book tonight asap, I NEED to know what's going on, is Verity really as injured as she seems? What's Jeremy hiding (I don't trust him)? What the heck is up with Crew? I really hope there's a good explanation because I am not a fan of horror tropes (Eg. Creepy children) that are there only for the sake of being tropes and don't actually have a good explanation for the behavior. (hide spoiler)]

I'm a little sad that Verity has turned out to be such a horrible person, it's refreshing to read from the perspective of a woman who does not want to/regrets becoming a mother for a change and I wanted to like her at least a little bit. But then again I'm so suspicious about every character in the book so I really don't know if I believe the autobiography to be true or not. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[Hm. I don't know how I feel about this ending. It was obvious that Verity was faking her injuries, I figured that out ages ago but I was completely off about Jeremy. I mean I really dislike him as a person and do not like his insta-love with Lowen but he wasn't actually manipulating anything behind the scenes like I suspected.

If Colleen Hoover writes more mystery thrillers, I'd be interested in reading them, even though I wasn't completely happy with the ending and even a little disappointed at Evil!Verity being a ruse, it was a really engaging and addictive book with some really dark and twisted stuff, I enjoyed it.
