I just finished this book last night. I liked it.

I kind of wish that Anna had told Trudy more about her life in Germany. I know Anna was ashamed of some of the things she did (like being the mistress to Horst) but I think Trudy would have liked hearing about how her mother delivered the bread to the quarry and helped pass notes and film to the Resistsnce Network.

I thought the same thing! It would definitely be something I'd want to know.

I remember thinking about the situation and I thought to myself..what would I have done? I mean, the situation was desperate. I would have wanted to protect my child any way I could. I'd want to be safe. What would I do in that situation? It's hard to tell what I would have done. I would have wanted to save my daughter at all costs but I shudder at the thought of having to do what she did with Horst.
