@Tien - The big problem is that I can't figure out what picture to use for it! Do you have a picture that would work?

Sorry, LynnB - haven't had a chance to think much these days. Still trying to clean up the old place and unpacking at the new place (still working too!) arrgh!
Maybe you could do a collage of your fave debut authors in 2013?

I picked the cover of Jane Austen's debut novel and added it to photos.
I'm working on figuring out who to choose for October. I'll send out a message in the next couple of days.
Well I have chosen the October shelf...one of my absolute favourites...NOVELLAS.I hope everyone finds a little something special out there to read.
Interesting choice! Something short and sweet. ;)Here's the link: Novellas
I have a lot of good choices for this. :)
Oh, yay! I've been looking for an excuse to start the Silo series. I haven't looked yet, but they should certainly be there somewhere.

Oooh. Good choice. Now I have to go to that shelf and see what I have on my TBRs. I know I have some novellas on it.
Yikes! I just took a quick look at the first three pages. Several novels are on there, so some people must be shelving them without a clue as to what a novella is. Still, there are real novellas on there, so off I go to find which ones I'm going to read....
Just checking. There is a novella shelf, with 36,706 books, and a novellas shelf, with 17,326 books. I'm sure there will be a lot of overlap. But is it the second, smaller shelf that you meant to choose, Lisa?
Yes, the smaller shelf is the one I was thinking of Susan. Thanks so much for picking up on this. I obviously need to further develop my shelf picking and information sharing skills. Thanks again :-)
No problem. Just wanted to clarify, so no-one would be confused if they were searching for the shelf within a particular book listing.

Hey, Lisa... just a quick reminder to pick your avi for October :)
Let me know if you need any help, cheers!

Isn't it time for something to be happening about this for November? Seems a bit later than it has been in recent months.
Susan wrote: "Isn't it time for something to be happening about this for November? Seems a bit later than it has been in recent months."Shelf-picker is supposed to be chosen around the "20th (give or take 1-2 days)". I think the others have been on the early side, but it should happen soon.
I've sent Lisa a message last week and she apologised for being late the other day though she promised to do it next 24 hours so I hope that'd be Very Very Soon...
Just an update, I'm sending Lisa another message and if hasn't responded or pick the next person by tonight, I'm going to choose on her behalf... and hopefully, we'll have November shelf by weekend.
Oh I am so sorry everyone!!! My tardiness is so unforgiveable.I have just emailed Niamh as our November Shelf Picker. Good luck to Niamh.
Again, my apologies.
Sorry for not checking my messages until today. I'm off to pick a new shelf now so will have it for you by this evening :)
Ok guys. My choice for the November is the Animals shelf. Loads of different books in this one so hope you'll find one that suits you.
It took me a while but I found a book from my TBR! (on page 28, LOL!)And I already found Harry Potter and The Hunger Games in there!
Good choice, Niamh! I like having a shelf that's a bit different than we've recently had. Now to choose some books....
Thanks Lynn :) I'm having trouble whittling down the choices myself. The Hunger Games was in a lot of the shelves that I looked at D.G. I guess I'd better put it in my TBR :)
So many choices, but with the holidays coming up I am thinking that many of us will be going on road trips and so the shelf I picked is road trip.
OK... Trying this again. Pigletto just wrote me to tell me that she left the group. This time I drew Adrienne.
Bea wrote: "What is our January shelf? It is getting close to the month."
I'm sorry, Bea... I have totally lost track of time and only followed up Tara over the weekend... Adrienne has got the message though and she's asked whether it's okay since she's picked a shelf about 6 months ago. Since it's really really late, I've said it's all right so hopefully she should be around soon enough to tell us what the shelf will be for Jan.
On another note, I hope everyone has had a great & joyful Christmas :D

Alrighty! I'm on the ball, now.For January, I pick the Contemporary shelf since it's a new year and all. I don't know. It just sounded like a good idea.
I'll get you an avatar as soon as possible.

Nice choice, Adrienne!
Woo-hoo! 9 of my 12 Scattershelves choices are on the list, as well as dozens more that I'd like to read. A great way to start the year. Thanks, Adrienne.
Isn't there a list somewhere of the past shelf pickers? I know I saw it recently, but I can't find it, now.
Adrienne wrote: "Isn't there a list somewhere of the past shelf pickers? I know I saw it recently, but I can't find it, now."It's a document with a link in the first message of "Pick-a-Shelf ... How to". When I looked, it's about a month or two behind though. The shelf picker is supposed to be someone who has posted a review for the current month.
I thought it was a review for the past month since this month isn't done, yet. So I would choose from the December list? Have I got it wrong?
Adrienne wrote: "I thought it was a review for the past month since this month isn't done, yet. So I would choose from the December list? Have I got it wrong?"Hmm, I'm not sure about that one. It would make sense, though, as lots of the reviews don't show up until the end of the month.

sorry, been meaning to update the worksheet :)
yes, Adrienne, if you're picking the Shelf Picker for February, please look at the December review thread.
