THE TASKS:
1. Read three books from series on your Goodreads TBR list that you have started and not finished. Books can be from the same series or from different series. Tell us the series.
- Give the Dark My Love
- Voice of Command
- Castle in the Air
2. Read two books from your TBR list that you own – print books only please!
- Give the Dark My Love
- The Lost Books: Scroll of Kings
3. Read two books from your TBR list that will help with two different, difficult-to-finish challenges. Tell us which challenges the books work for.
4. Read three books from your TBR list that are by new-to-you authors. Be sure to post links to the author names.
- Beth Revis (Give the Dark My Love)
- May Dawson (Three Kinds of Wicked)
- Alexa Donne (Brightly Burning)
5. Read two books from your TBR list that a friend, co-worker or family member has recommended to you. Tell us who recommended them.
6. Open your TBR list and sort by date added. Make a note of the number of books on your to-read list. Divide that number in half (if you come up with a fraction, round up), and read the book that corresponds to that number.
EXAMPLE: If I have 450 books on my to-read list, the halfway point would be book #225, so I would read book #225 on my to-read list.
Note: If your "halfway" book is in the middle of a series and you’re a read-in-order person (like me!), you may read the next book from that series instead of your halfway book. Also, if you aren’t able to obtain a copy of your halfway book, you may read one up or one down from your halfway point.
7. Set your TBR list to show 75 books per page, and sort by Date Added, newest to oldest. Read two books from the first page of that list. Tell us when they were added.
- Gypsy's Blood (added 1/12/2019)
- Gypsy Freak (added 2/2/2019)
8. Set your TBR list to show 20 books per page, and sort by Date Added, oldest to newest. Read one book from the first page of that list. Tell us when it was added.
9. Set your TBR list to show 30 books per page, and sort by author, A-Z. Read one book from the first page of that list. Be sure to post a link to the author name.
- Destined Storm by Tessa Cole
- Spinning Into Gold by Emma Savant
10. Set your TBR list to show 40 books per page, and sort by author, Z-A. Read one book from the first page of that list. Be sure to post a link to the author name.
11. Set your TBR list to show 50 books per page, and sort by number of pages, shortest to longest. Read two books from the first page of that list (must be over 150 pages long). Tell us how many pages.
NOTE #1: If, like most of us, you have books under the 150-page minimum on your list, you have two choices: You can (1) choose two books from your 50 shortest books that are over 150 pages or (2) combine two (and only two!) shorter books to equal each 150-page book. This would necessitate reading FOUR books to complete this task. If you choose option 2, please make that clear when you post your challenge, thanks!
NOTE #2: If Goodreads does not list the number of pages for some of your books, you can use the page count found elsewhere – the author’s or publisher’s website, B&N, amazon, etc. Be sure to provide a link to the site with the page count.
- Two Witches and a Whiskey (240 pages)
- Wishes to Burn (214 pages)
12. Set your Goodreads TBR list to show 100 books per page. Sort by publication date, newest to oldest.
Read two books from the first page AND one book from the last page of that list (or last two pages, if there are less than 30 books on the last page). Tell us when they were published.
- Sometime After Midnight by L. Phillips (published August 7th, 2018)
13. Set your TBR to show 75 books per page, and sort by average rating, high to low. Read two books from the first page of that list. Tell us the ratings.
14. Set your Goodreads TBR list to show 100 books per page and sort by number of ratings. Read two books from the first page AND two books from the last page of that list. Tell us how many ratings each book has.
15. Set your Goodreads TBR list to show 50 books per page, then choose Random in the Sort menu. Read Read two books from the first page AND two books from the last page of that list.
- Pirate Nemesis
- June
- I Am Malala
16. Set your TBR list to show 30 books per page, and sort by title, A-Z. Read one book from each of the first two pages of that list. (In other words, read one book from page 1, and another book from page 2.)
17. Set your TBR list to show 40 books per page, and sort by title, Z-A. Read one book from each of the first two pages of that list. (In other words, read one book from page 1, and another book from page 2.)
- Blood Rights (DNF ugh)
18. After you have completed the rest of the challenge, read any three books from your TBR list that were on your list when this challenge began and are still hanging around :)
