Leslie | 2 comments • High-level plot surrounded an older man who was feeling the aches and pains of aging who is then approached by a stranger who offers him an opportunity....
• Read story in late 90's early 2000's
• Had checked it out from my local library
• Book was super short, maybe less than 100/150 pages
• I feel like the book cover was pink, but that could be totally wrong
• Genres: Fiction, sci-fi, short books

• Man is older
• Ends up paying to trade in his older body for a younger one
• New body reinvigorates him and he spends time doing a bunch of young person type activities
• In the end, he misses his wife
• She has no idea who he is since he is now in a new body
• He tries to give the old body back and return to his original body
• Can't find stranger who offered him the initial trade and building where he went to transition to new body is empty
• He is now stuck in the young body

Jim (jimmaclachlan) I don't know of a short story like that, but it might have been based on Rod Serling's Twilight Zone episode "Trade-ins". I think they made some TZ books, so it could have been in that. Here's the Wikipedia link to the TZ episode.

Some suggestions that have been made in other body swap threads:

The Body
Ringing the Changes
Chateau d'If and Other Stories
GURPS Warehouse 23
Hopscotch

Rosa (rosaiglarsh) | 5384 comments Sure sounds like Seconds to me.

Leslie | 2 comments It may be Seconds. Definitely not the Twilight Zone. Will comb thru the other suggestions to see if any might be it. Thanks!

Leslie ~~
Let us know if Seconds turned out to be your book! We crave closure -- and we want to know if we should keep looking.

Also --
You can "bump" your thread every month or so. This pushes your thread back to the top of the folder instead of languishing here on page 173 where fewer eyes will see it. Get back in the game! Bump!
You can do this by typing a new comment at the end of the thread, or even by typing the word "bump."
Good luck!
