Please tell me what book my hubby was reading /s

Hi all .... On holidays my hubby was reading a book when he lost it .... he cant remember the author or title ... but here is a brief description .. The book is about an ex IRA man from Derry who has gone to Manchester and is hired by a gangster to kill an Italian mafia man... He finds out that the man he has to kill goes to a graveyard every Thursday to visit his mothers grave ,,, This man Fallon dresses up as a priest and shoots the man. On shooting the man he sees that he was seen by a priest but due to his beliefs he dosen't shoot the priest but follows him to the confession box where he asks the priest if everything he tells him in confession is is confidential , when the priest says yes , Fallon then tells the priest that it was him that shot the man earlier...... and that is all i know .. the book was originally written in the 70s and reprinted several times over the past years ...
