Judah Lamey | 3 comments Hello, I just started to really branch out into Sci-Fi. I had a few bad encounters with some terrible books, and was put off. But lately I stumbled onto Dark Run by Mike Brooks and I am really loving it. So much so, that I have started to look around for other Sci-fi books.
I am as new to the genre as they come, so....any recommendations?
Or even thoughts on Sci-fi as a Genre?

Ryan Dash (ryandash) What sci-fi books did you feel were terrible? My personal favorite sci-fi author is Orson Scott Card, his Ender series is excellent. In the past year I've read Pierce Brown's Red Rising, and Becky Chambers's Wayfarer's series, which are also excellent.

Judah Lamey | 3 comments I really can't remember it was way back when I was getting into reading seriously and trying to do d what genre I enkoyed the most. What turned me off to the genre was what apeared to be more of a focus on the space tech and not as much focus on the characters and plot. A similar problem with if someone were to pick a fantasy book off the shelf blind and find one of the troped up "Quentinqueleth the Dragon speaker and Ork slayer.
I am reading Dark Run at the moment and I am loving it.
thanks for the leads ill have to look into those.
