The Final Spark question

This was the Final book of the Michael Vey series. Like all the other books, it ended amazing! The reader was left wondering if Michael Vey had died during the gigantic explosion that he had set off. Turns out, he survived. But, not everything was good despite that good news. Hatch had captured the Resistance, which included Michael's mom in it.
