The third book in Mortimer's Time Traveller series, and things are getting interesting! There will be a lot of things you recognise in this period of history, but a lot will disgust you too (triggers for animal abuse).

Overall I enjoyed the book (a lot of post it notes ended up on pages that featured amusing (to me) quotes), but it got a bit slow towards the end.

I also ended up buying Margaret Willes' The Curious World Of Samuel Pepys and John Evelyn whilst reading this book, as Mortimer uses both diarists to help guide you through the period, so if you want to decrease your tbr pile I'd advise you to wait a while before you read this book!
