Cathie | 5 comments My brother in law read this book when he was in Vietnam in the mid 1960s. The author had been a p.o.w. in the Korean war or WWII. While in the p.o.w. camp he thought up different ways to solve math problems. The math problems could be real simple or a little bit harder. I hope I have this right. Has anyone heard of this book?

Rob | 83 comments The Trachtenberg Speed System of Basic Mathematics. It was developed by the Russian Jewish engineer Jakow Trachtenberg in order to keep his mind occupied while being held in a Nazi concentration camp.
