ABANDONED. Picture book with a bunny painting easter eggs.

Does any know the name of this book? I have no idea when it was published but I would say between the mid 80s to mid 90s. I remember the cover had a bunny that was sitting by a basket of painted eggs while he painted another. I think it had a purple border. I don't really remember the storyline but I think the rabbit was born with chickens and felt like an outcast. Sorry for the lack of details at this point! Fingers crossed someone out there knows what I'm talking about as I would love to own this book again.
