Is there anyone who has read this that would have any interest in discussing it? I’m seeing all these five star reviews and feel like I must have missed something!! (view spoiler)[ How was Aidan institutionalized if he had been declared dead? Wouldn’t he have needed an identity? How was he supporting that coke habit? (hide spoiler)]

Hi, I recently attempted to read this book, but put it down at the 20% mark. It is (in my opinion) not worth reading. I rated it 1-Star, which I reserve for books I simply cannot put myself through to get to the last page.

My review of this book says why I do not believe YOU missed anything. If lots of folks like this debut novel by Selman that is just fine. It is not for me.

Regarding 5-Star Reviews, they are not all honest reviews. There are sites to let you know what likely percentage of 5-Stars are REALLY 5-Stars.

Finally, I never read reviews BEFORE I read a book. It is like a movie. Many movies that I truly loved enough to watch time and time again were ignored by the critics or in some cases really put down.
