Awesome, I think I've just got a couple of pages to go. So definitely feeling safe saying that yes, I still loved this one and it was made all the better for reading it with my awesome buddy read friends and having those who couldn't join us visit.

message 375: by Karen (new) - rated it 5 stars

Karen Oh hell yeah!!! I"m done, I loved it and why wasn't the next book out ...yesterday!!!!

Sweet dreams and I"ll chat with you all tomorrow...especially you Christelle...we need your thoughts on this one.

Also just FYI for me....4.5 - 5 stars not quite sure which yet but if it's 4.5 I'll be rounding up here on GR so it's pretty much all the same here.

Christelle Hello to all of you,
I'm done as well. What a great way to start this reading year : perfect book, perfect series, perfect friends to share it with.

Well, I can say that this book won't dampen my fan-girling. But I feel down now : when, of when, will we have Lucky and Bo again !!

I loved seeing Lucky getting all grouchy again (he was mellowing too much) and still playing the badass (and quite failing when it comes to Bo and his growing band of friends). Being in his head is such a pleasure. Eden Winters made it even steamier and funnier than the previous ones and I always like the plot she inserts : making it a tad obvious so that the reader can follow but with some nice twists so that it's not too boring.

The more I was reading this one and the more I was thinking that another read of this series will occur for me this year because no way I can be deny of such entertainment for another year :-)

Well, my friends, you have all a great week and of course, we will chat on GR. Don't forget we have some other BRs this month and next month. I'm going to send you an update shortly.

Cheers to you all and thanks for this great time together, mwahh !!

Simone - on indefinite hiatus - Hi ladies,

looks like we are all once again on the same page here. Not that I had any doubts. LOL. I'm still amazed that Ms. Winters can keep up the level of pure awesomeness even after seven books. :) I have no idea when book #8 will be out, but I really hope she won't keep us waiting for too long. I might start my 'reread' via audiobooks soon, since she told us that book #3 will be out on audio this month and if they'll keep coming out in such a short timeframe, I'm so all over the audiobooks. LOL

Thank you for reading this with me and the fun I had in such a great company. :)

Christelle "I'm still amazed that Ms. Winters can keep up the level of pure awesomeness even after seven books. :)" <--- Yes, that amazed as well. With long series, I always expect a time when it wears out, but here, nooooo 😊
And look at you, already done with the homework. Going to look at it right now !!

Well, with (view spoiler) still on the loose, I could imagine the next book will be interesting as well. LOL. And when an author does such a great job with their books, I happy to wait a bit longer to get something fabulous than get the books one after the other within just a short period of time and it's just mediocre. :)
LOL. Homework was more like 'officework', hehehehe, but I don't like to postpone reviews until after I've read other books, I always think I might forget things or mix them up. LOL.

message 380: by Karen (new) - rated it 5 stars

Karen Hello all! I'm so late to the party today. I admit it, I stayed up late so I slept in. I'm with totally on board for a redo on this series but I think I'm going to hold out for the audio books, I've got the first 2 and I'm just going to keep grabbing them as they get released that way I'll have them when I want them and I'm supporting the author so that she can keep producing them...win/win!!! And I'm so on board for doing a buddy read for book #8 with anyone and everyone who wants to join in. I started reading this series back in 2013 and have been a devoted fan of Ms. Winters every since. The only thing she's ever written that I truly didn't care for was her 'A Bear Walks into a Bar' books I read the first one and it was 'peace out' as far as I was concerned and she had a co-author on that one so maybe it's a case of her co-author's style combined with her's just not working for me...I don't know, I just know that from start to finish that book was a train wreck for me.

But this series and her 'Naked Tails' which is about possum shifters and totally adorable are definitely favorites for me.

I'm so glad we all loved this first buddy read of the year, I know like the rest of you I really didn't have any doubts about that but still good to have it confirmed. Ok, I've got to go get my butt and hubby's in gear the Christmas decorations are all put away but there's still some little details to take care of and I have a couple of audio reviews to finish writing not to mention a certain book to finish reading and by the way if you all like snark you'll love the MCs in CI, right Simone?

Christelle Yep for loving this 1st 2019 BR, yep for the absence of doubts and yep for being nice to have it confirmed 😊

Simone - on indefinite hiatus - Yep to everything above and of course yep to CI and snark and awesomeness too. LOL.

If I remember right, I've only read The Angel of 13th Street so far, aside from the Diversion series and it was only meh for me. But no one can beat Lucky and Bo in my book anyway. LOL.

I loved The Angel of 13th Street (The Angel of 13th Street, #1) by Eden Winters and Naked Tails by Eden Winters (was seriously a total treat for me and shifter books are an ify thing for me) also Settling the Score but I also read all of them before Ms Winters Diversion series and while Diversion is definitely at the top of the list for me I really love all of her stories that I've read so far. Most of her stories tend to sit between 4 - 5 stars fairly consistently but you can't read any of it and compare it to Diversion because...apples...oranges...it's just not doable. I noticed last time when I was on audible that as well as the first couple of the books in the Diversion series Highway Man by Eden Winters & Duet by Eden Winters are out on audio. I've listened to Highway Man and really liked it. I'm sure that I'll be enjoying Duet one day soon especially considering who the narrator is...Michael Ferraiuolo!!!

message 387: by Josy (new) - rated it 5 stars

Josy Ladies, I'm even later to the party and again, it's almost 10 PM and I'm so ready for bed, lol!!

Like all of you, I'm sooo happy that we all loved this book and yes, I'm also amazed how much I still love the whole series and I don't see that changing anytime soon, lol!

Of course, I'm totally going to join you for the next book and it can't come soon enough, lol!

I have already listened to the first two books when I did my re-read but I'm going to wait for the rest of the audiobooks before I do another re-read.

I have 'Highway Man' on audio as well but haven't listened to it yet. LOL!! 'A Bear Walks Into a Bar' was so crazy!! I've rated it 3 stars, I think, but I don't think I'm gonna read the next book.

I hope you all are well (Simone, hope you are not in too much pain!) and have a nice evening :)

Josy, I loved Highway Man by Eden Winters , my only problem was of course that it was too short. Not because the story felt incomplete but because I enjoyed the hell out of it and I hope you do too. Sweet dreams.

I didn't write a review for The Angel of 13th Street (The Angel of 13th Street, #1) by Eden Winters , I've read it ages ago before I did reviews at all, so I don't remember what exactly bothered me, I think I was bored, but I'm not sure. LOL. Maybe I'll do a reread someday, but with Mt. TBR it's rather unlikely. ;-) I'll check the audiobook for Highway Man by Eden Winters out, though. :)

Nope, no pain at all thanks to the patches. LOL. I'm torn about the audiobooks or rather when to listen to them. I want to listen to them like yesterday, but I know myself and I know I would want more which is difficult since not all are out yet. LOL.

Shile (Hazard's Version) on-hiatus Hello Ladies! I hope you are all well.

I am now fully committed to continuing with Collusion (Diversion #2) by Eden Winters , i am enjoying the story, but the audiobook is still wishy washy for me. The Narrator has a southern Accent, which makes me wonder do any of you remember if it was ever mentioned that the characters have southern accents? and he is a slow reader too. 😥 Maybe it is just me. Good thing is he has a distinct voice for all characters.

Hey my lovely,

except for a now missing tooth I'm fine. ;-) Hope everything's fine on your end too?!

Oh, sorry to hear that. I only listened to the sample for book #1 so far, but nothing stood out to me. I have to admit that any accents are mostly lost on me, though. LOL. I like his voice and I also like when narrators don't talk a mile a minute. ;-) Lucky is from the south, a typical redneck as Bo always teases him. Right now I don't remember Bo's hometown, but maybe one of the other ladies *side-eyes Josy who did a reread lately* knows more. ;-)

Sorry! i hope the pain is now gone. I am good thanks, though work has decided to start with a bang, which is stress for me. But at least i can get paid to buy more books. :)

His voice is really good but the accent threw me off. Ok! he can give Lucky an accent, as for the rest.. the jury is still out. The story is great though, Lucky's grumpiness keeps me going.

Actually I believe it was mentioned in the earlier books but there was reference made in this one to Lucky's southern roots and his accent...he pulls it out when needed. Mostly I think he uses it when he wants people to underestimate him and thinks he's some backwoods, redneck hick who isn't very bright...lol!!! SIlly people.

message 397: by Karen (new) - rated it 5 stars

Karen Shile about the 'slow' narration. I don't know if you can do this or not but does your audio program give you the ability to adjust the narration speed? Honestly most of the audio books that I listen to I find that I have to adjust the narration speed...not by much mind you, but I usually have my speed at 1.1 (which is like 110%) but I remember listening to one not that long ago and I had to adjust it to 1.25 (125%) it was rediculous how slow the narrator was but when I did that it just sounded like the narrator was reading at a normal rate as opposed to e---v---e---r---y-----w---o---r---d---taking forever to get out of his mouth. Seriously 5 minutes of this guy and I wanted to scream or fall asleep, I'm not sure which. Maybe this'll help.

Oh! this is good. Then i think the narrator should have done that. He is using a southern accent for the whole book. I am getting used to him though.

Thank you this is a good idea. Let me check, i listen via Audible and an android app called voice. I will check and see if it has that option. The book is 226 pages, that would take maybe 6 hours , here we have 8 hours , 2 extra more hours. His voice is amazing! just that he is slow.
