I love books with happy end. This one was a bit too dark for me. From the psychological POV that is. Yes it made perfect sense and yes it was brilliant. Just as Lauren Oliver, Green manages to capture the "in the head" part exceptionally well.
But life is dark enough as it is and I wish for happy ever afters and second chances. That's why I didn't love it, despite the fact that it's brilliant.

😁😁I didn't read quite that many. 3 of them were almost over by the time we entered 2019 but GR chose to add them to my reading challenge because I closed them in Jan. And lots of them were below 250 pages, some only 100+ pages. I read 250+ pages a day so making the number was easy. :D

Haha, fair enough! i thought maybe you disagreed with things in the story or something...
I'm the complete opposite, by the way, the darker the story/ending, the better! Though i do appreciate a nice clean ending too, i just prefer the dark and messy ones 😝

Laura (lauradragonchild) | 6554 comments Finished We Bought a Zoo by Benjamin Mee chosen by Daniel and it was just ok. To tell the truth, despite the story being better than the one in the movie, I loved the movie more. The writing style was newspaper article style and it really put me off.

Laura (lauradragonchild) | 6554 comments Finished Hailee's pick - The Last Light of the Sun by Guy Gavriel Kay and loved it. Not as great as The Sarantine Mosaic, but still a wonderful read.

Laura (lauradragonchild) | 6554 comments Finished Tammie's pick The Hob's Bargain by Patricia Briggs and I loved it!!
It was sweet and funky and funny and awesome!
And I'm reading more of Briggs after this!

I finished Tammie's favorite - Heart's Blood by Juliet Marillier and I've added it to my favorite list also. Because it was fabulous!
I still have to write a review for it and will try to do it this week. But
Thank you Tammie!!
