Selina (literatelibrarian) | 3104 comments Dolly on Dolly: Interviews and Encounters with Dolly Parton was really good. It went through about 50 years of interviews. What I like about Dolly Parton is her honesty. She didnt get into drugs either although she did have bouts of over eating (but not bulimia). Her career has been so varied from singing, songwriting, tv, theme park, movies, patron of reading....She appeals to everyone from evangelicals to gays, rednecks to liberals. And shes been married to one husband for over 50 years. Amazing.
Well worth reading this book to find out what Dolly has to say for herself although her memoir was pretty good as well she did quip she ought to have called it 'My life ...and it's none of your business.' Lol. She kept her private and public personas quite separate which is a good way of handling fame.

Selina (literatelibrarian) | 3104 comments I heard that Robyn Crawford has written a memoir about her life with Whitney Houston and it will be published in November.
It should be interesting. For those who dont know, Robyn Crawford was Whitney's assistant and they had an intense relationship but they split up when Bobby Brown came into the picture.

In all the docos about Whitney Robyn has kept her silence about their relationship, esp since her family didnt approve as Robyn was a lesbian and it seems Whitney didnt want the stigma but it is known Whitney was bisexual or had those tendencies. Most people just thought Robyn was a loyal friend but..Robyn really did not get on with Bobby Brown and there was allegedly a show down between them. Its strange because Whitney's mother being quite religious seemed like she would rather her daughter married drug dealing womaniser Bobby than stay living with clean living but lesbian Robyn.

So, it would be interesting to get Robyns side of the story about Whitney and what happened in the end.

Question...are bisexual people always going to be caught in the centre of a love triangle?

Fishface | 2014 comments Probably no more than the straights and the gays. But they might be less predictable in content...
