I am reading Washington Black for #10, it has several settings, I will reading and then decide where it took me.

Island on Fire Alexandra Witze
I haven't finished November's book yet but December will be moving on to Syria with The Book Collectors: A Band of Syrian Rebels and the Stories That Carried Them Through a War
I'll be reading A Short History of Tractors in Ukrainian. After 900 pages of Vanity Fair in November, a short history sounds heavenly!
Hi, Sophie. I think Jacque picked it for Jan. Linda wrote it on my individual thread. Sandra, who took over for Diane last year, is not moderating this challenge for 2025. So Linda, Shahar and Jacque have sort of taken it on.
Sophie wrote: "Sorry, I am being confused: where do I find number 4?"Sophie in this challenge every year we list 24 books we want to read at the beginning of the year, numbering them 1-24. Then each month a random number is chosen and that is the book we read from our list. (if you look in my TBR post, you will see my 24 books and that book 4 is White Mulberry so that is what I will read). Everyone will read a different book based on their list. In the last 3 years, I've read 40 books off my physical shelf using this method, so I didn't want it to end. Hope that Helps.

As per usual, I am behind on this challenge by most of the books. I have read our January pick thus far. I have, however, managed to read two books not yet chosen off my list. So even though it is not exactly how this is played, it’s still a win seeing as this is a tbr takedown. In one sense then, I’m only 1 + current behind. 😅March 1.America Is Not the Heart - US
5.The Angels Die - Algeria
6. Carpentaria - Australia
7. The Miniaturist - Netherlands
8.The Widows of Malabar Hill - India
9.Splinters of Scarlet - Denmark
10. The Night Tiger - Malaysia
May - 11. The Blind Assassin - Canada
13.King Leopold's Ghost - Democratic Republic of Congo
14.The Magicians - Antarctica
15.Don't Look Now and Other Stories - Israel
February 16. The Mistletoe Bride & Other Haunting Tales- France
17. Sister Pelagia and the White Bulldog - Russia
18. Velvet Was the Night- Mexico
19. Night Train to Lisbon - Portugal
21. South American country selection
22. Rosewater - Nigeria
23.These Violent Delights - China
April -24. South American Country selection

So swap those two into the Feb and Mar slot and all is great. I look at like you do, it's a win that books are coming off my TBR even if they weren't the number drawn that month. Happy Reading!
Audible's 2 for 1 Sale that ends this coming week is a gem for Around the World in 80 Books! I just picked up Korea, Italy, and Nigeria, but that is just the tip of the iceberg. I probably should buy more credits to grab up those books!
