I have just started the book, haven't read the first one. But how easily she says that the man killed her parents! It was the most gruesome thing I have read and how normally it is told!?
I don't want to know but I want to know will more killings like this happen in the book?

I started this the other day but I finally have time to read more and holy crap...... I forgot how much ANGST.

CHAPTER 1-8 (view spoiler)[I love this so much already. This world building is outrageously good. I really like Jude as a character....maybe I wouldn’t be friends with her necessarily, but I like her. I know she irks some people but IDK I like her. And uhh Cardan gives me feels BEYOND WHAT I EVER EXPECTED FROM HIM. LET ME LIVE BOI. 😭 (hide spoiler)]
CHAPTER 9-19 (view spoiler)[I NEED to know more about Cardan’s mom. I’m really loving how morally gray and lowkey awful all the characters are. Like, both Cardan and Jude are awful people but I’m still rooting for them both. Also Holly Black’s writing is phenomenal, once again I’m floored. CHAPTER 20-23 (view spoiler)[1. I hate Locke so much. He might be the character who makes me the most angry. 2. THAT BETRAYAL. I thought I was on to something but I was WRONG. 3. I’m terrified that Madoc knows now. Oh my God. 4. Nicasia is such an awful spoiled brat and I hope she gets what she deserves. 5. I love Cardan. That is all.

1-10=(view spoiler)[ locke is so annoying. What do jude and taryn see in him? Every character is gray here, there is no white or black. I don't like jude as a character but she worked hard for the power she wanted. (hide spoiler)]

20-25= (view spoiler)[ locke was annoying before, now he's just stupid. Ghost!!! I didn't even think about him. He betrayed her for such a petty reason. Jude has so much spirit in her. Forget about her negative personality, I love her now. (hide spoiler)]
26-onwards= (view spoiler)[ killing balekin was fast. I was sure he would be in the next book. Carden was the only one I liked from the start. He married jude. Why would he exile her!? If he knows something and is trying to protect her, then its okay. Otherwise I would have a hard time forgiving him. Even jude might kill him for it. (hide spoiler)]
