Yuki | 3 comments The author is a male. Possibly a mystery or scifi writer.I read it around 2003 or 2004. The first part is a story about a murderer(male/a serial killer?), and the details of his crimes. In the second part, he suddenly finds that he has a special healing power(don't remember if it was spiritually or physically). All kinds of people start to gather around him and they form a kind of "commune".

Yuki, what is the story's time period and location - country, region, big city/small town?

Can you tell us more about the murderer - his age, job/skills at the start of the book, rich/poor, family, etc.? Who are his victims?

Thank you, Kris for help. The location is US, not big city. Suburb, I think. Region West possibly, or Midwest. Age like 40ish or a bit older. Blue-collar-worker type. No close family. Can't remember about victims. Randomly picked where he lives or works?

Yuki | 3 comments Kris, thank you for your help. I've found the book. "The Random Walk" by Lawrence Block. I'd got some details of the book mixed up with Orson Scott Card's "Lost Boys". Thank you so much! This group is amazing.
