I've been on a bit of a buying spree lately too. I am getting through a lot of books at the same time though, thanks to having nothing else to do in work :o)

At least you are getting through most of what you are buying. Although suspect you’d rather be busy at work instead. Just don’t know what has happened to my self control.
I've just had a look at how many I've bought, including paperbacks, audio and kindle and I'm definitely buying more than I'm reading. If I can control myself for a few months then maybe I can make a dent in them!
Oh dear! I'm not that bad but I don't think I'm far off. This year is a much better ratio, I've definitely read more this year than I've bought.
Finished another, A Street cat named Bob, which was an OK read but some irritating things. It does however mean I've hit my non-fiction target. I have however this week got a 3 month membership of KU for free, which means I need a break from my paid challenge, so some will be hard to hit now. However, I'm really looking forward to catching up on the Justice series.
Well, not sure what 3 I've read since last updating, apart from Kane and Abel, which I really enjoyed and looking forward to the sequel, and Tortured Justice. I was going to set up a new shelf for my paid books, until I looked at the 6 piles of paperbacks! and as my KU is till Sept, I won't be touching them for a while. think it will be a 3 year challenge at this rate!
Another two read, am really enjoying my KU this time, catching up on the Justice series as well as reading some Point Horror books from my teenage years. Was doing really well at not buying till today, when I have managed to buy 12! Maybe this will be a 4 year challenge, unless I can rein myself in
Oh goodness! Don't think I've bought 12 in a day for a long long time - used to be able to go to a specialist bookshop by train years ago and as they had American imports would stock up on science fiction and fantasy books that couldn't be bought here otherwise. Now more likely to pick up the odd one or two in charity shops!
Not sure I ever have! Its the downside of an author putting out 10 for 99p, I was impressed my neighbour encouraged me to buy the second book when we were on the market, she normally tells me I have too much to read and don't need anymore!
Another 2 finished, fairly sure I'll finish the Justice series before my KU ends. Just pulled out my paid paperbacks to organise, and realised there are 50, I think I have a problem!!
Well, I was on the verge of hitting my challenge, so I have increased it by another 6, but still 7 ahead! And 3 on the verge of finishing. Did contemplate leaving it to see just how ahead I could get, but I have another 4 months and a holiday to do that! I did however buy another 3 paperbacks yesterday
Well done Desley ... yes I bought another paperback this week too but as it was the latest Stephen King for 50p I couldn't resist!
Pam wrote: "Well done Desley ... yes I bought another paperback this week too but as it was the latest Stephen King for 50p I couldn't resist!"I'd have definitely done that too!
4 finished this week, although 5 bought! Am hoping at some point that my favourite authors will stop putting books on sale, it seems like the only thing that will stop me!
Hmm, another dilemma - even though I've already increased my challenge twice, I'm two books away from completing, and I'm reading 4 at the moment, so that could be hit by the end of the week. Thinking of increasing again, but once KU finishes at the end of the month, I need to tackle some of the large books I have to read (don't think any of the KU ones I've read so far have been over 200 pages), so can't decide how many to increase by.
You aren’t the first person to suggest that Jud, I was thinking 45, as finishing the ones I’m reading would take me to 42, so would only have to read 3 more before the end of the year, so should finish and allow me to read some of the long ones.
More finished, and thanks to reading lots of short books due to KU, I've increased my number of books to read for the third time this year - maybe I'll even get a fourth time in this year! Although once it finishes at the end of the month, I need to focus on some of the longer books I have on my pile, as I have no chance of hitting my page number target.
I'm two away from my target ... just bumped it up another 20 thinking that was a reasonable target and will see how it goes.
Wow, wish I could bump mine up by 20! Although I have added 15, but only because I've read a lot of short stories, and books that are short for me (less than 200 pages)..
Really excited about one of the books I bought this week, I discovered when I was reading Kane and Abel that it was actually part of a trilogy, I discovered I had a paperback copy of the second in my pile of unread books, not sure when I acquired that! And then on Wed discovered the third was on Amazon for 99p, so had to buy it, really looking forward to reading them, I did enjoy Kane and Abel. Kind of tempted to see if the second will come on offer (I bought Kane and Abel for 99p) so have all 3 on the kindle.
I wish R! That would be great. Well, I've hit my 3rd target, so not going to change it again (although was tempted to increase it to 50, as I'm back to reading 4 books at a time), and just see how far over it I can get, as I need to read some doorstops. Also hit my target of favourite authors, but don't think I'm going to hit my new authors or page count. Have read some good books, and when travelling, actually read a book in one day, which was a good start to what normally doesn't feel like a holiday.
Another two finished, although another two bought! Page count hasn't gone up enough though, so that is out. Not sure I'm going to do my new author count this year, but pleased I've increased two this year.
Another finished but I'm not going to admit how many I have bought this week! I have realised a flaw in my challenge, it was just supposed to be paid books, but I did have a 3 month KU trial and have read at least one through Prime reading (although I do pay for Prime, so that kind of counts). Think I read 14 during the trial, so my number of paid books is a lot lower than my challenge says, might update it when I have time.
Another target hit, read my classics quota for the year, but think I've messed up with my tracker, I seem to have two different numbers!
Another two finished, but have bought either 4 or 5 books this week! Not sure the tracker is working though.
Think I'm going to track these better next year. I have nearly finished planning next years challenge though, although the amount of books I keep buying are making some of the decisions tricky!
That's very organised. I don't really plan, but I tend to read through a particular set of authors as I am trying to clear their stuff out, but dip into other things so I don't get fed up.
I love making lists, and when you have 250 books to read, it helps to have some kind of plan! I'm doing 10 themed months, which gives me scope to still do 2 other challenges, although will have to miss the third next year.
