I'm glad to hear you loved that book I was just considering listening to it!

message 374: by Jan, Moderator (new)

Jan | 21010 comments My 5 star ratings are getting fewer and fewer as I grow older - I think I'm becoming a book grouch. But The Death of Mrs. Westaway was a solid 5 stars for me - though I think it was the listening experience that solidified it for me.

Great, Jan, thanks! Yes, I'm listening to the audio, and I agree, it's very well done. I just started it, but I have to finish soon, as it's the book *I chose for our F2F book group that meets this Friday. Yikes! LOL

Have you read/listened to any of her other books?

message 383: by Jan, Moderator (new)

Jan | 21010 comments Good luck Barb! I listened to In a Dark, Dark Wood. I enjoyed the narration but didn't enjoy the story as much. But I plan on listening to The Woman in Cabin 10 and her new one when it comes out The Turn of the Key.

finished set 4, P/paper airlplane with The Happy Brain: The Science of Where Happiness Comes From, and Why (4*)

message 393: by Jan, Moderator (new)

Jan | 21010 comments Thanks Rosa!! It got a 4 even though it told you to touch strangers more...it must have been good!

message 394: by [deleted user] (new)

haha! it told me that probably the reason we enjoy chatting and gossiping so much because it's a sort of social grooming, so we don't have actually search our fellow people for lice and stuff, and it just said that there was a study with the touching/money, I'm still a big non-toucher, lol

but it was a very interesting read, and written with a funny voice, with words somebody without a major in neuro-science could understand as well. I hope my library will buy his other book, Idiot Brain: What Your Head Is Really Up To, as well

Jan | 21010 comments Sounds good Rosa - let me know what you want to replace it with. Don't want you reading a book with a creepy MC.
