I may need to check it out Barb! There aren't a lot of them out there.

Thanks for the update and I put you down for G

Karen | 621 comments I finished R in Set 15 - Roiling Seas - on Quest for a Maid by Frances Mary Hendry , Quest for a Maid by Frances Mary Hendry.

Interesting middle grade "what if" in Scot's history.

Karen | 621 comments I might be able to take I with Instructions? I think this is meant to look like how to fold paper to make an origami crane?

Just Breathe by Cammie McGovern by Cammie McGovern

I don't think I have any other outstanding books on the list, do I? :)

She works as an editor, so she *is a bit of a grammar nazi, even in her off-the-job life, but if you can live with that, you may enjoy the book. There are three books in the series so far (the last just came out in June), but there may be more in the works?

Jan | 21026 comments Karen - that's another one I'm waffling on but let's go with it since I is a tough one.

Barb - I did check out the series and the library has them so it went on the list. But "the list" is pretty long so we will see if I ever get to it.

Thanks for the update Rosa! I'll change the book.

Barb | 1651 comments Jan wrote: "Barb - I did check out the series and the library has them so it went on the list. But "the list" is pretty long so we will see if I ever get to it."

Oh do I ever know what you mean! My list was getting out of control, so I've started weeding it out. I'm making progress, but it's slow going.

message 1460: by Jan, Moderator (new)

Jan | 21026 comments LOL...that's funny Barb because a couple days ago I got a GR update that included all the books you had recently added and the list just kept going on and on. I purposely didn't look too closely because I didn't want to be tempted.

message 1461: by Barb (new)

Barb | 1651 comments Sorry, Jan, I was afraid that was going to happen. I wasn't adding books, I was moving them to different shelves, but GR counts that as "adding" a book :( I think I moved nearly 1000 books, so you must have had to scroll for a very long time, especially now that they only display one book per line.

I should be done with the mass shelf-shifting now, so hopefully I won't be spamming your feed anymore.

message 1462: by Jan, Moderator (new)

Jan | 21026 comments You weren't spamming!! I get a daily email with all my friends actions and I enjoy seeing what books they add to their shelves. But I really had NO CLUE that moving shelves acts like adding a book. That's news to me. From the looks of it you were a busy gal organizing your books. Sometimes that's more fun than reading them for me...lol.

message 1463: by Barb (new)

Barb | 1651 comments The re-organization was prompted by a challenge task asking for a bright pink cover :) I don't have a lot of pink covers on my shelf to begin with, let alone bright pink. So I was looking through my entire to-read list and getting frustrated when I found a book that would work but it was further along in a series than where I'm at so far. (You all know that I'm very much a read-in-order gal :D)

I decided to move all those "not to this point in the series" books to a separate exclusive shelf ... which then prompted more re-organization and weeding (which is still in progress). Thank goodness for 'batch edit' or I'd *still be moving all those books!

message 1464: by Karen (new)

Karen | 621 comments I also got that long list of books, Barb! I followed it partway down and realized it was going to take most of the day to read, so I had to abandon the effort! :) I also wondered how you could add so many books at one time! Thanks for the explanation.

message 1465: by Karen (new)

Karen | 621 comments Thanks for the "I" Jan. I think they are legitimately supposed to look like paper folding instructions - those are arrows pointing from one step to the next. I don't think we are cheating the system! :) I'll let you know if there is actually any mention of origami in the book.

Karen | 621 comments Finished I for Instructions with Just Breathe by Cammie McGovern by Cammie McGovern.

It was about Jamie instructing David how to do origami (in addition to depression and cystic fibrosis!). A nice book. A bit of suspending disbelief but otherwise a good story.

message 1484: by Barb (new)

Barb | 1651 comments I finished my book for G (game piece), but I'm on my phone and can't link to the book. I am dealing with what my doctor calls a severe case of tendonitis, and can't type or use a computer mouse at all until it heals, which is going to be a slow process. Thank goodness for the speech to text option, but it's not perfect.

The book is Your Move, by Jonathan Kay and another author whose name escapes me at the moment. It wasn't quite what I was expecting, but it was a quick read. I'm giving it 3.5 stars, because it bogged down a bit and because the author's panned a couple of my favorite board games 😉
