I finished F for Figure with The Widows of Malabar Hill by Sujata Massey. Not sure about this X thing. I'm picking up a few books later at the library. Maybe I'll find an X on them.
Finished W for wings Even Dogs in the Wild
and I can take X for proximal palmar creases in
It took me a long time to figure out that was a person's palm, not some trees.Next up: Y

Finished my book for V (vase). If you like the antics of Meg Langslow and her family, you might enjoy Hayley and her friends too :) Death of a Country Fried Redneck (Hayley Powell #2), by Lee Hollis, finished 5/24 ★★★.5
I don't have any Y items coming up, but I'll keep an eye on the thread.
Patrizia - for Y I really prefer something that starts with the Y. I don't think it's too hard to find. Let's give it a while.UPDATE: Actually we can use it for YARD.

Ops... The standard Italian alphabet doesn't have the Y and I thought it was one of the letters for which it was possible to search for words that had them inside. Thank goodness, Yard is fine! I was afraid you'd tell me that this was a garden and not a courtyard ...
HI Jan, Is there a list of letters that can be used within the word as opposed to the initial letter? Like horizon for Z? I checked the rules and didn't see any. Thanks!
I would take horizon for Z Karen. Go ahead and post the book cover and I will update the rules. Q, X and Z and the three I will readily take words with the letter in it.
Well - I don't know as it is actually a horizon, I was just using that as an example. You can look at it and see what you think.
by Sterling NorthThat endless Birth of a Reader challenge!

That works for horizon Karen! And I'm never going to finish that challenge. I can't believe you are on your 2nd round of it.
You can finish that challenge - If i did it so can you! Birth of a Reader is what I'm referring to. Now doing a second round...maybe next year lolNext up: A
Denise wrote: "You can finish that challenge - If i did it so can you! Birth of a Reader is what I'm referring to. Now doing a second round...maybe next year lolGood job Denise! Though Karen and I are doing it with a twist. We are only only middle grade or YA books. It makes it harder!!

oh that is interesting - if you have trouble finding books let me know - I volunteer at a place where books are donated and we get old children's and YA books all the time. It must be hard to find those written on parchment scrolls though.
Next up: A
I just looked through my list of books to read next, and I couldn't find an arm on a single cover *sigh* No other A items either...
Denise wrote: "It must be hard to find those written on parchment scrolls though."I'll try not to take that too personal...LOL. ☺
Denise wrote: "It must be hard to find those written on parchment scrolls though."HEY! You must be referring to Jan! :) Oh wait... I"m two years older than her.
Karen wrote: "You are almost there, Jan! I have Summer of the Monkeys for 1976 too - we can do a group read! :)"I do need 1976 :)
Denise wrote: "Enjoy your vacation Jillian!!Thanks, we had lots of fun! Now to get back in work mode...
Finished my D book. It was hard to read this week; we lost one of our grand-dogs a few days ago, and it's been especially hard for Son and DIL. She had to make the difficult decision on her own, since he's deployed right now :( A Big Little Life: A Memoir of a Joyful Dog Named Trixie, by Dean Koontz, finished 6/2/19 ★★★★

That's Not All Folks: My Life in the Golden Age of Cartoons and Radio, by Mel Blanc, finished 5/21 ★★★★
What an entertaining life he had, and it was interesting to follow his career as it transitioned from radio to television.
If it works, Jan, I can take V for the vase of flowers on the table:
