Adult non fiction, memoir I read it in the early 2000's. It is written by an American (possibly of Italian heritage) woman. It is about finding unexpected love and its consequences in Venice. The author does a great job describing her experience of dealing with the intricacies of Venetian/ Italian laws and customs. It is not a long book and I think it is her first published book. Any help is greatly appreciated.
