I read this book probably five years ago I believe. The main character worked at a news station and she was planning to move to New York (?). The night before she was planning on leaving she watches a meteor shower with her boyfriend and he proposes. I think she wishes that she didn't have to choose or something similar because the day after she leaves she finds herself living the life having said yes. So every day she switches between the realities.
