I wonder if this really has that element or not (and I struggle liking love triangles too).
I am actually super intrigued by the blurb though.
I might be in though - I just need to decide if I want to try to juggle it all or not.

Also Laura can maybe answer the question on the love triangle, I think she has already read it

Yet, I would be (and I am) very supportive of this suggestion!

and yes! Love triangle all the way! I didn't particularly dig that part either but the book is great.

And oh noooo, stupid love triangle 🙈

I find the concepts are easy to understand; the political layers a bit simple but interesting enough so far; the characters so far are okay (nothing special, nothing immediately annoying) and I find the wording pretty easy to read.
So far, so good!

It is a long book but very easy to read.

Your comments makes me really excited as well, can't wait to see the world for myself :)

What I really love about this series is how much mystery it keeps packing and delivering. You get the answer to one question but then there are many more opening!
I am less connected to the characters than initially though. (view spoiler) .
I am struggling to find the time to just enjoy the story these days but overall this is a book very entertaining for me!

I only read the first 4 chapters and for me it's somehow the opposite 😅 I really have problems keeping straight who's who... The author using descriptions instead of names, like the lady or the younger one, makes it even more difficult for me.
So far, I'm not sure what to think of the writing style, it somehow feels a little... old? 😅 To be fair that's not necessarily the problem of the book, but maybe the translation, as I'm reading a german copy. I'm still curious what's going on, I think I just need to give it a little more time :)

Yes, there are many things that are trying to throw me off. But the best aspect of this book is certainly the story itself. If you can avoid the rest by distracting you from it, I think you would enjoy it as well!

My weekend was not very eventful from a reading (book reading I should say) perspective so I did not make much progress.
I keep my interest for the story. I realize that the execution of the book is not on par with the standards we have experienced in recent years but I still find the story, the plot and the pace of revelations quite modern.
Sure, the author keeps jumping from one point of view to another, almost in the same sentence. Yet, I cannot stop thinking that the story is actually well put together. Nothing terribly new - although when she wrote the story might have been more novel than today - but I love how she connected religion and politics. I also love how the Forbidden are unveiled in the story and how they are becoming more interesting over time.
In essence, I am still enjoying the book quite a bit; I confess that it will not be my favorite fantasy book of all times but it is good!

Never underestimate the power of books!!! Reading what this book has done for you makes me like the book even more!

That's great, it's great to have a book, that can do such things :)
I'm still way behind, it took me forever to get into the story and I own an omnibus edition that contains book 1 and 2, so it isn't exactly light-weight and easy to carry around... I think I finally reached a point where I'm really curious what's going to happen next and I hope to at least finish the first half of book 1 today. So I hopefully won't be that late for book 2...
As I said, my copy of the book contains book one and two and so far I only saw were there's a break between the two books and the chapter numbers starts with Chapter 1 again... that's not the case here, the whole book has 58 chapter. I guess book 1 ends after chapter 33, as there's a change in the small pictures beside the chapter number, but I'm not sure. Maybe one of you can tell me how many chapters the first book have? That would be great, thanks :)

My kindle version has 58 chapters and the name of the last one is BattleAxe.
I hope this helps you navigate!
I am still at chapter 40. I was hoping to read the book a lot faster than I am. I am genuinely intrigued by the story but I find myself usually drawn to other books lately.
I am glad though I realized who Goldfeather was. Now I am curious to know the whole story behind the scenes!

Die Sternenbraut
and
Sternenströmers Lied
And Goodread says, that are indeed the first two books...

Yeah, it's the same with german translations, big books often got split. ASoIaF, Stormlight Archive and Malazan for example... I trusted Goodreads too much, I guess :D They were all connected with the english copies... I changed it yesterday, so no one else get confused like me 😅
It means that a.) I only own the Axis Trilogy and b.) I'm far more behind than I thought
