ABANDONED. Thriller book, is a novel, read a while ago. Now I can't seem to remember it. It was about a girl who found out in the end that she was the evil one after searching for the evil person all along

A teenage girl is sent to a mental health hospital, by her parents, I think at the beginning of the book. There, the conditions are really rough and the guards watching over the facility don't think of the patients as real people. A specific scene I remember is when late at night; this is I think her first night at the mental facility, a doctor comes to give everyone their dose of sleep medicine. The girl tries to be sneaky and not swallow it by putting it either underneath her tongue or pillow. The doctor thoroughly checks, though, and sees that she has not swallowed the medicine, therefore forcing her to swallow it in their presence. The girl can feel the effects of the medicine almost immediately and start feeling dizzy and before she knows it she falls asleep. Later on in the story "Crimson Moon" is mentioned very often to signal, and this part of my memory is hazy so don't quote me on this, a person's changing into something evil. All along she has been developing a relationship with this boy in the mental asylum and sneaking out late at night finding creative ways to not take her medicine. Later on I think there is this girl who is her rival and she, all along hates her and thinks she is evil and that she will be the one to be evil when the "Crimson Moon" comes along, but in reality the person who was evil all along was herself and she finally embraces it in a trippy scene near to the end, where she's in this underground place, I think. I don't know, I might be mixing two books up, but I'm like 60% sure this is really one book. It also might be a series that I have not read the rest of.
