This was a children’s book series that was about a teacher who told a different story in each class and they had things in them like a penguin and a chair and sailboat or something that would be major parts of his story. They were small chapter books I think with pastel colors and there might have been a silhouette of the teacher on the front with the various icons.

Do the possible icons on the cover look like simple symbols (of what?) or web/computer buttons?
Can you describe the illustrations - realistic/cartoony/cute, simple/detailed, painted watercolors/bold graphics, sunny/dark/muted colors/black & white? Do they remind you of another illustrator or picture book author?
Yes, each story is about the teacher telling a different story. Almost like a choose your own adventure for the kids because they *might* be the ones who choose what will be important in the story. The icons are like silhouettes of the things that will the big parts of his story. I remember one of the books being a pastel blue with a different shade of blue for accents and one was yellow and one was pink, I believe. Each book was different shades of one color.
