li mei wasn't born to the crazy eights. in fact, she wasn't
even born into a gang. her parents were abusive addicts,
that had managed to piss off a large number of the city's
crime-lords. but somehow they were always able to slip
out of trouble. that is until manolito hernández of crazy
eights caught up to them.

li mei walked in on the assassination. it was lucky that all
she saw was the blood and bodies, but it was more than
enough for the eleven year old to know that the stranger
standing in their mess of a living room had done it. li mei
doesn't remember that night as a painful one, though; it
has instead become one of a fresh beginning, one of her
new family in manolito when he took her in as one of his
own. he took care of her as his daughter, and for that, li
mei will always be grateful.

since then, li mei has changed from a child frightened of
her own parents to a woman afraid of nothing. the gang
life is one she fully embraces, and she cares deeply for
most of the crazy eight members. she knows how to use
her beauty and wits to her full advantage. she's not one
to be messed with. after all, she's manolito hernández's
daughter and though she's not of his blood, you'd swear
his ruthlessness runs through her veins.
