I love the movie. I was really sad that it didn't have a sequel.

I finally got started on The Bad Beginning. I have been having this strange allergic reaction to something unknown. It's driving me nuts :P

I'm very annoyed with Mr. Poe right now. He's the first person that doesn't believe them out of so many like I'm sure you girls know by now being so ahead of me (:
I think it's obvious what Olaf is up to but that may because I know what already happens. Did anyone know right away what he was up to?
I forgot about Olaf hitting Klaus! I just wanted to go and smack him back. At that point the book seems to be showing you that this is very serious. They are evil people in the world. They won't just force you to do unpleasant things and be mean to you. They will hurt you and break you. It's a really serious lesson for a children's book. (hide spoiler)]

I really want to make some Puttanesca sauce...

I'll finish the book by tonight and start the Reptile Room tonight too if I can.

Yea ladies today is fri the 4th... I'm starting now :)

Btw I heard that Lemony Snicket DOES start to meds with his formula in this book and the next :) so that's good! If I like this one a lot I'll be down to start the next one, but if it's like the past I think I need more of a break between them lol.

The 5th book is my favorite. You might want to read it right away. I don't think Lemony Snicket changes his format very much. The Baudelaire's just have to deal with different situations each time and they learn about things each time too.

I'm not sure...we are just finishing 4, which we started, and most finished today already too.
Not sure when we are reading 5 but many ppl wanna finish the entire series this month so I'm guessing we will start 5 soon and within a few days start 6!
Personally, I have book 5 but I don't have 6, which is weird bc I have 7 lol. So I have to get that.

Wow, you girls are fast or maybe I haven't had much time to read. I finished The Bad Beginning last night and started Reptile Room this morning.

The Bad Beginning: (view spoiler)[I thought the ending was a little rushed. I wonder why the Baudelaire parents stipulated that they go to their relatives. Were they preparing them for something? It just feels odd.

It's crazy to think Olaf's first plan to steal their fortune was to marry a 14 year old. It's sooo creepy! I'm surprised I coveted this series at such a young age. I must have been more morbid than I thought. (hide spoiler)]

The Reptile Room (chapter 1): (view spoiler)[ I LOVE Monty! I love his personality. Just the way he talks is so fun. I wish I could be that interesting person who is quirky, bakes really well, and is somewhat mysterious. I'll be the mysterious book loving aunt and I will be awesome.

It doesn't look like they will grow much in this book. The books aren't spanned very long. I kind of don't like that. (hide spoiler)]

Finished Reptile Room a couple of days ago:

The Reptile Room: (view spoiler)[ I don't like how Monty got frustrated with the children when they were trying to tell him something important. He didn't seems as nice later on but some parents/guardians can be strict about those things... still...
There was a word in the book that Violet didn't know and I remember thinking "You are 14 and don't know this word by now?"
The Baudelaires have now seen a dead body. I'm surprised they aren't more traumatized. If it was me I would be shaking and freaking out.
I like how they all came together and solved the crime. They all had a little part to play. When Olaf and the Hook man got away it reminded me how young they are. Although, they are kids they can't predict everything. (hide spoiler)]

The Wide Window Ch. 1-7: (view spoiler)[I wish everything would slow down. Even the time it takes for Olaf to ruin their lives is about a week and then they have to move on. The whole series most likely spans 6 months. Aunt Josephine was interesting. I like her quirkiness with her fear of everything even realtors. (hide spoiler)]

Austere Academy (view spoiler)[I'm really happy when my motto got mention here in the book (Memento Mori). <---that's a little bit off topic. But this might be my favorite among the series (yet). The book is different from the others. There's more side-comment from the author and the flow of story is different (hide spoiler)]

Josephine frustrated me to no end. She was funny but sheesh woman, get a grip. She died by grammar :O
The Bauldelaires really need to be better at calling the cops before Olaf gets away and not saying things that might get others killed. Whenever they say they are going to tell right away who he is or what he is planning he just ends up killing someone.

I need to re-rate all the books now that I'm reading them again.

End of The Austene Academy: (view spoiler)[ Oh my gosh that ending! Loved it! I think this is a five star book for me. I loved the mystery in this one, I had no idea it would end like that. They made an AMAZING plan but the children have no luck. I have a feeling both sets of siblings are connected in some way... I just don't know how yet. (hide spoiler)]
