八日目の蝉
ハネムーン
ココロコネクト ヒトランダム
落下する夕方
“文学少女”と死にたがりの道化
I think two of these would be considered "light novels", and the only one that looks at all dense is 八日目の蝉.

Interesting, I also have 八日目の蝉 and 落下する夕方 lying around. I'm currently reading two books from Ekuni and she's very readable. Banana Yoshimoto too, and I really like her stuff, but I know not everyone does ;P
For inspiration, I tried looking at Amazon.co.jp's 'best sellers' in the light novel category this morning, but 95% of them are like multi-volumes and/or appear to be explicit? Ah, marketing! That being said, I'd be down to try anyway!

“文学少女”と死にたがりの道化 is also the first volume in a light novel series. I read the first few in English.

Who would be up for a Japanese group read?! At some time in 2019.
It's always a bit difficult to pick something that fits everyone's reading abilities and interests, but I was thinking maybe a short novel or a light novel? Let me know if interested/have some ideas!
