Meredith | 1787 comments Subterranean Press, who published The Tea Master and the Detective said in an email this week:

"We suspect that many readers will be happy to know that not only is Aliette working on a new Xuya universe novella for us, but that we have her first collection under contract, as well."

Quantum (quantumkatana) | 134 comments Just got de Bodard's newsletter. She's coming out with a collection of her short stories and a novella. "The novella is codenamed "Seven Hearts" and will be another mystery romp inspired by a 19th/early 20th century classic. "

Meredith | 1787 comments I've read all three novellas and I think I rank Citadel slightly above Tea Master with On a Red Station further back from those two. For Citadel, once it clicked for me, I really enjoyed the different threads of the story and (view spoiler) While I really enjoyed the world building in Tea Master, which was the first one I read (view spoiler)

I really enjoy the universe that de Bodard has created and I will probably dip into some of the short stories at some point and I appreciate folks who have recommended some already in this discussion.

Anna (vegfic) | 10437 comments Did everyone already add Of Wars, and Memories, and Starlight to their TBR?

Raucous | 888 comments I did, although I wish that it weren't coming out as a limited print collector's edition. This publisher is known for beautiful books and I love the picture of the cover on this one but I'm not good with actual print these days. I'll probably wait for the eventual (I hope) eBook version.

Anna (vegfic) | 10437 comments I expect they'll have an ebook later, like with Tea Master.

Quantum (quantumkatana) | 134 comments Awesome cover! Awesome theme using the same setting as The Tea Master and the Detective.

Dawn F (psychedk) | 1223 comments I try to stick with ebooks as well, but I had to buy Tea Master (it was expensive, eeek!) as it’s my favorite and the cover is goorrrgeeoouuuss.

Kaa | 1550 comments Of Wars, and Memories, and Starlight looks like it's FINALLY going to be out on Kindle this coming week. I'm not sure there will be any new Xuya stories, but there is at least one new alt-Paris novella!
