Not that I'm aware of. As someone previously mentioned however you can prevent it from emailing you when you get the message.
I think that setting is for all Goodread's messages though, not on a group by group basis. Check Under your Account's Email settings.

Did anyone get a new group broadcast message from me yet?
I got sent to a strange 'page not found', and so I'm not sure if the message was actually sent or what. I don't really want to send it again and spam people. I know when I did it last month it took awhile for me to get mine, but others got it sooner.
I guess if I don't hear back that people got it and/or haven't gotten one myself by the time I get home from work I'll try to send it again from home.
My work internet can be wonky/time out sometimes, so I probably should have just waited to send it after work instead..
For anyone interested, this is what the page I got said:
"Page-Is-Gone, son of Aragorn, grandson of Arathorn
All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.
From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king.

Alright. It's probably safe to assume it didn't go out then.
I'll try again from home later today.

Yeah. I really love the one I go to.

So now we're about 8 months into the monthly newsletter. I was curious what people thought at this point.
Do you find it useful? Are you reading all of it? Part of it? If so which parts?
Are you an regular poster? A lurker? Something in between?
For any of the people doing the local meetups, has the monthly notification helped get more interest? We've started up a few new groups since the start of the year, and there have been some attempts to start a few others.
Any suggestions on how I can make it better?
Because of the way they are sent, I have no real sense of their value. I may include some questions in the year end survey if I do one again.
Thanks!

Unless I'm missing something (entirely possible given what I just said), the local meet ups section is just those pinned on the forum. I'm not sure if you ever look beyond them - I seldom do myself, so I wouldn't blame you for not reading further. I find that section on the forum a little irritating, as so many are pinned that nothing new from anyone else shows up on the main page - you have to click into it to see if anyone elsewhere posted anything new, which makes it super easy to miss things. For example, I know someone was having a pre world con meet up in London, but I would not have noticed this if he hadn't messaged me about it. Mostly, this is a criticism of too many pins on the forum, but if some of the unpinned meet ups were in the group message, that'd be cool. Maybe they are and I need to read more closely. :P
All that said, I really appreciate the effort and can see how useful the group message must be for others. I like getting it anyway. Keep it up, Rob! You're doing a great job.
I quickly look through it, but as I check the forum regularly, I am aware of all the information it contains.

I have thought the same thing. With so many pinned, anyone trying to start a new topic will end up off the main page and as we all know, if you're not on page 1 you don't exist.
My suggestion would be to unpin all the "Local Group Meetups" topics. Busy Groups will keep their topics on page 1 and new topics will also get viewed.
I will leave that up to Rob (and others) to decide as I don't use that section.

Hmm. That's a good point. Maybe I'll unpin them all, and create a single pinned thread that links to the threads for regular meetups.

1 point to Dara for coming up with an absolutely great catch phrase. That really belongs on a mug or a T shirt.

Meanwhile the people who rarely come here will likely get value from the email but since they don't come here... they won't see this post and reply.
Bottom line - I think it's a good adjunct to the site esp for people who rarely or never come to the site.

Keep it going, Rob!
yeah, that's been pretty evident by the replies. I did seem to get some replies from non-regulars when I first created this thread. I guess I was hoping some of them might chime in again.
Maybe I'll put something in the September letter. Or maybe I'll just wait for the end of the year survey.
