Science Fiction First Chapter 3400 Words.

I am starting my first book and I am over 40,000 words thus far, but I have no feedback avenues and I really would like to try to get some before I continue. I am hoping to get either specific or generic feedback. I have rewritten the first chapter a few times and now I think I just need a little feedback. Thanks in advance.

In this alternate reality, Spell casters are common amongst non spell casters in the world. There are different colors of Aur (similar to Mana in many role playing games). There are Red, Yellow and Blue Aurs among others. Of course casters of certain colors of Aur hate Aurcasters of the other colors. The novel begins with a young volatile Red Aur spellcaster coming to find his abducted sister in the Southern Yellow territory.

are the colors significant in some kind of way? It sounds like a badly written RPG...

The colors define the types of spells that the casters can use because of geographical constrictions. They are summoned from the minerals/earth for red, water for blue, sun for yellow. It has a lot of RPG elements and there are a lot of cliches. I'm okay with that. I created this world in my mind a long time ago and would really like to put it on paper.
