Workbook Experience or Insights

Hello, A friend of mine has an online course in personal finance and asked me to use my self-publishing skills to help him put together a workbook to accompany the course. I've done several online courses before so I feel confident that I can deliver, but if anyone has any experience in this arena I would love your advice or insights on what to do or not to do when it comes to developing course workbooks.

Have you looked through workbooks? It's been a while since I've done any when I was in middle school and high school. I think nowadays, you would either write answers on paper, or do your homework online.
