Last BOTM Discussion of the year, let's do it!

I've been debating for like 24 hours on what to say about the book. lol. I liked it, I don't think I loved it.
(view spoiler)[ I love "Don't Panic" on the front of the guide. And the little side stories were fun, and I liked how they tied into the main story. I think maybe I would have enjoyed it more if it had been longer and given more depth to some of the characters. It was a fun short story kind of vibe, maybe something I would read if I was in the mood for Skeleton Crew, or something that I don't have to commit a lot of time to. Of course it could have just been the "technical" talk that had me kind of meh on it. Maybe it will hold up better for me on a second or third read where I can absorb more detail. I enjoyed the mouse plot twist, less enjoyed the whole meaning of life aspect, although it was funny. But I honestly just wanted to like it more than I did. (hide spoiler)]

Finished!! So... It was definetly different to what I am used to and definetly out of my comfort zone!

This is the first sci-fi novel I've ever read and to be fair, it isn't my favourite genre anyway. As somebody who reads mainly non-fiction, I found it very hard to keep up with and having a solid image of what was going on and how everybody looked like. As Kelsey said (view spoiler)[ it would have been better if the story was a bit longer and with more character depth! But I believe that there are other books in this series, so there could possibly be more detail there? Also, in some points I was reminded of that feeling you have when you have a really bad/weird dream and everything is a bit blurry and doesn't make much sense? Lol, maybe it was only me!
I will say that the humour kept me reading and I enjoyed the few little plot twists (Rats!! Who would have thought it!!) (hide spoiler)]

Although I won't be continuing with the series, I am glad I stuck with this Sci-fi classic and I can definetly see how fans of the genre would love it!
