SOLVED. Existentialist sci-fi about different ways time can work? [s]

Was assigned to read this a good ten years ago for high school, and it wasn't new then. It's basically a collection of short stories/essays about how space/time could operate in alternate/parallel universes. It wasn't a very big book.
