The vagrant has no name. He wanders through a barren wasteland, torn apart by war, and is filled with evil creatures and normal men with malignant intents. The vagrant cannot speak. He communicates through the entire book with gestures The Hammer that walks is an evil creature turned sort of good. In the book, the Vagrant murders the Hammer and just walks away. Why does he kill the Hammer and why does he have no remorse? Why does the vagrant have no name and why can't he speak?
