i think the policy here is to merge the profiles under the more complete Jeffrey Jay Niehaus profile, since I don't see a subject difference between pen names.

Okay, thanks for explaining that. I used to request a merge in cases like this; later I came to understand that the Goodreads policy was to retain all versions of an author's name as they appear on various book covers. But I suppose I'm wrong about that.
