Treasure Press I am wondering about your reactions to books versus movies and tv and radio. I personally worry that novels and the art of writing are being made anachronistic by other media.

A Luddite would understand my concerns. Yet I am not that. I actually publish POD and ebooks as Treasure Chest Press. But books seem to be no longer kept, and cherished. Many of my friends just throw them out after they're read. And even members of my book club admit to watching the movie of a book rather than actually reading it.

I wonder what all this means for a serious author. Are we becoming obsolete, prehistoric? Lita

I don't think that you have anything to worry about. The explosion in available options for what to do with one's leisure time just INCREASES the demand for creators of work to fill that void. Authors, actors, entertainers of all sorts will be in demand even more as these things continue. Also we'll need an increasing number of folks to sift through all the deluge and point out the good stuff.
