Just starting today! I’m already relieved the author decided to include maps of the world in the front of the book.

Part One: (view spoiler)[ Okay so I was pretty skeptical starting this book. I feel like the author picked some of the most difficult to pronounce names of cities, countries and people. This book is growing on me. I don't really know how I feel about the characters yet, but I think I like Inej and Nina. (hide spoiler)]

Part Two: (view spoiler)[ Okay I am sooooo glad a map was included in this book, though I am still a little confused about the workings of the country(?). I really loved getting to know Nina during this part. Her and Matthias obviously had a past, and I kind of ship them. (hide spoiler)]

Part Three: (view spoiler)[ Why would Nina report Matthias as a slaver? UGH poor Matthias. He was usually so kind to her while they were traveling. I am glad to finally figure out what happened between them. I really liked seeing Kaz's past with Jordie. I felt really bad that Nina had to see the burnt Grisha. Oh my gosh, so the drug does really cool things to Grisha, but makes them very dependent on it. It's not really worth it to give it to them since they baically will die after. However it does make a lot of sense for the Shu to send Grisha instead of just an army of them.

NOW I understand why Nina did what she did. I hope Matthias ends up forgiving her. (hide spoiler)]

Part Four: (view spoiler)[ HOW FREAKING SAD FOR KAZ! There is no way I wold be willing to go to prision but they are getting paid a lot of money so if it is successful it would all be worth it. WOW Jesper is Greisha too!

I like Nina's thinking I think this guy is more useful dead than alive.

You know what, Inej should be mad at Kaz! I think Inej's past is the saddest of them all. (hide spoiler)]

Part Five: (view spoiler)[ Ahhh so Jesper's secret is out now. Seriously I love Nina and Inej's relationship. I like how playful Jesper was about potentially not seeing the crows again. It is so bold of Inej to put back on the silks and the tattoo of the menagerie.

Seriously Inej is one of the strongest people in this book. She got caught by the guards, and there was nothing to do about it. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ Omg, when Inej chose to put on the silks again?? I was so nervous for her. Especially after the scene we'd seen of her in the beginning with Heleen and the muscle. But later? When she was faced with Heleen at Court and she snuck the diamonds off??? <3 It was so cool to get to that reveal and get to see Inej being proud of herself. (hide spoiler)]
