SOLVED. LDS Romance, Male POV, Recent Publish, "Dear John". [s]

This book has a primarily brown cover. It's the sort of book you would find at Seagull Book or Deseret Book. It's roughly 1/2" thick.

The plot was about a man named John who got "Dear John"ed, and the girl who dumped him is now engaged. He finds love again in a new girl. I think there was a decision he had to make between the girls at the end.

The title was something like "Dear John" or "Dearest John" or "Sincerely, John" or "Yours, John" - something you'd open or close a letter with.

It was a fairly recent publish, I think. I borrowed the book from someone else last year, and the cover was fairly new. I would be shocked if it was older than 2006. I'm fairly certain the author was male.

No, but thank you for the guess! The book I'm thinking of is more lighthearted and has a very happy ending.

It was written such that it appeals as much to men as to women, so it's pretty straightforward writing. I remember there were a few really funny parts, too...

I FOUND IT!!!!
I had an epiphany and realized the guy's name wasn't John, it was Dave. Which quickly led me to As Always, Dave. The cover isn't primarily brown like I "remembered", so that didn't help my search.
