Hey, wear whatever you want while we're collaborating as long as you stay on that side of the big pond. I don't have to see it, I'm good.

LOL
Finished it this morning. Such a blast! I thought your voices blended perfectly. Am I the only one who kinda got a splatterpunk vibe from this story?

Now that you mention it, it is kinda splatterpunky... despite the fact that we actually dialed down the red stuff in certain places -- if you can believe it!
Thanks so much, Glen! That's not a connection I would have made, necessarily, but now that you mention it . . . hmm . . . I don't disagree. That whole "tone" is definitely present throughout the book, even if we never set out to make it "gory for gory's sake."
It took me a while sneaking bits of time with other commitments, but I finished this last night, and loved it! Definitely a great ending, and I loved the interactions between all the characters. I kinda wondered if Mike was somewhat autobiographical, then saw it confirmed in the story notes.

James was great with adding those little autobiographical touches. I find it much easier writing misfit characters, along the lines of Lonnie and Pork Chop, than I do "regular Joes" like Mike. While we were mapping out the story, James was always suggesting character beats from his own life, and I was like, "That HAS to go in."
Kimberly wrote: "I just loved it--the characters, dark humor, and the ending positively blew me away!"Heh, heh. Well, you're slightly biased... but we'll take the compliments! ;)

Not at all! :D

Have we screwed up this group read by answering most of your questions in our story notes? Seemed like a good idea at the time! Readers of my past books seem to enjoy 'em. And I always liked reading the notes in Steve King's short fiction collections.

I have no idea what/who you're talking about.

I always like those types of notes at the end, though.

Wrathbone shirts, I mean. I could go the rest of my life without ever seeing Howe in bicycle shorts. Jeeeezus.
