I was not a fan of this book. I've been reading SoT since I was 13, and they've always been my favorite. But, this book was just....uggh. I thought the series was over, I was content with it being over and having the Law of Nines to hint at what happened after Confessor. Everything that came out after I felt was forced and I really hope it's finally over. In the Law of Nines, Jax says the house of Rahl died out a long time ago....I think that should be it. Richard died, it was sad, Kahlan needs to take charge now, and I'm not particularly interested to read how she would do it, HOWEVER...
I don't think it's over. And I'm too digusted over Zedd's predictable and emotionless death. The scene made me cry, because I loved Zedd, but it wasn't written in a way that I felt anyone else's emotions or anything. Just disappointment.

If he is healthy enough to write more the legacy will go on but if the author dies so does the story..

I really don't think Richard is dead. It just seems to.... I don't know off? Because hasn't part of the whole part of the story line was that if Richard dies, they are all screwed??? I just don't see TG ending the series like that (Warheart has been confirmed as the final book in the series)

I 100% agreed! I was so shocked!!! It was just like bam, he's dead.

It's like he's built this amazing world and then just can't do any better than what he's done already.
Zeddicus deserved a better death than that too.

The other thing about it is that, in my opinion, it wouldn't be so bad if we had seen more 'happy times' than trying to figure out how long everyone has a respite between the end of Confessor to Cara and Ben's wedding. I'd say months, right?
I have found the last three books difficult to get thru because of the graphic human eating theme.

I'll read the final book to finish the series, but I'm not going into expecting a miracle that it will be better than the last few.

Also, in the end, Barracus couldn't really help Richard either. He left him an empty book. Merritt was more of a help to Richard.
But, I wasn't really referring on how to be a War Wizard. I was referring to simple things like casting light and the every day things that Zedd or Nicci could do without thinking of it. Richard couldn't do any of the simple stuff.
Is it "Chainfire". where they think that Richard has lost his mind since he 'invented Kahlan' and they want to fix him? Zedd read the prophecy and still acted against it. I like the character but I stand behind my statement of him being more of a hindrance.
