Trying to find a particular book.

Hey there. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me. I am trying to find a title of a particular urban fantasy book. I think I came across it one to the Goodreads emails updates and thought it looked interesting, but foolishly did not add the title to my Want to Read list, much to my current frustration and chagrin.

What I remember is that the opening shows a young lady walking down a busy street in Manhattan, Fifth Avenue I think. She magically stops time for a few moments while cars and people around her levitate. Then she releases everything back to normal with no one aware of what has happened. Then her phone rings, or she gets her text, from a sort of a magic guild telling her that "She's hired."

That is all I remember of it. It is driving me nuts trying to find it, and if anyone can steer me in the right direction I would be most grateful.
