I get the impression that Elizabeth really likes him. She is a very liberal minded person for someone from that class at that time and Frank is more than just a cop.
I agree, Phrynne. I also believe she doesn’t want to make the mistakes she made with Maggie. She’s giving him the benefit of the doubt and normally has good instincts about people (this séance crew not withstanding). Yes, she likes him.
I like the scene where they first meet, when it dawns on Frank who this woman is. You can tell that Elizabeth immediately recognized his name and zeroed in on him with an eagle's eye, lol. Then the scene where they went to lunch at that Chinese food place..."nobody knows!" Great scene where I think they both were able to relax a little.
Oh, I’d forgotten about those scenes, Veronica! I completely agree that the restaurant would have put them both at ease.
I enjoy the interactions between Malloy and Sarah's parents (yes, both of them). However, there is so little character development in this installment as far as Malloy and Sarah's relationship is concerned. It was disappointing.
I think Jonetta is correct in that Elizabeth doesn't want to make the same mistake she made with Maggie. I believe she can see how Sarah feels about Frank (and him about her) and she wants to get to know him.
Lauren wrote: "I enjoy the interactions between Malloy and Sarah's parents (yes, both of them). At one point Malloy was thinking that he wasn't good enough for Sarah...but it wasn't something he had time to think about at the moment. If he doesn't think about it while he is with her, does he think about it between murders?
Frank is still at that stage where he’s trying to stay away from Sarah but once they’re together, he’s comfortable. This story was more about his making inroads with her family. We’ll see where this goes.
