Sharlene (swegner) | 44 comments The heroine sees this guy on the street near her job & shares her sandwich with him every day. She believes he is homeless, but things are not what they seem. She is all upset when he fails to show up one day.

Sharlene, around what year did you read this book? This will help narrow down the search.

What is the heroine's job? What type of writer is the hero, who does he work for?

Story's time period and location - country, region, big city/small town?

Tone - romantic, angsty, steamy/clean, funny, sad, etc.?

Sharlene (swegner) | 44 comments I don't remember the heroine's job, but I don't think she made a lot of money, so it was really generous for her to share half her lunch every day. I am thinking now that he was doing a documentary on film, maybe TV, & had a camera on him to see how people treated him when he was dressed as a homeless person. When the documentary came out, she was the only one that didn't just ignore him & walk by, and she would look him in the eye. He had to look dirty & couldn't wait to get clean at the end of the day. I am thinking that he made it happen that he met her under other circumstances, but that she didn't know who he was, but he looked familiar. I believe it was a city & definitely a romance. I am not sure if it was really angsty, but the conflict was that she felt like a fool because she had believed she was genuinely doing good. I remember it being very romantic, and possibly that the documentary played out as a love story in the end. I don't think it was particularly angsty, steamy or sad, but I am sure there is some sex in it. I read it in the last year or 2, but I can't find it on my GR list. It would be under the romance genre, possibly women's fiction with a romance, and probably a trade size book. I am new to your group, so thanks for the advice!

Sharlene (swegner) | 44 comments Yes! I thought it sounded like a Jill Mansell book, but it wasn't in any of the descriptions. I have the book & I just skimmed the beginning. I did rereads of a bunch of them recently, so that's probably why I thought it was newer. Thank you so much!

Sharlene (swegner) | 44 comments Man Down by Kate Meader. It's a hockey romance & they meet accidentally by text.

Lie for a Lie by Helena Hunting. Also a hockey romance. They meet on vacation & she is clueless about hockey.

Call Me Maybe by Cara Bastone. It's an audiobook a woman calling to fix her website and the man helping her over the phone.

Three Blind Dates by Meghan Quinn. It's about a TV personality who joins an exclusive dating site to meet her true love. Keeps you guessing, too!

Charlie All Night by Jennifer Crusie. It's a short read, oldie but goodie. The hero isn't rich or famous, but he isn't who he is pretending to be.

Sex, Lies and Online Dating by Rachel Gibson. Also an oldie & also the hero is not rich or famous, but is an investigator pretending to be her date.

Hope this is helpful. I'm sure I could dig up some more. I read a lot of romance! :)

Dadang, please start a new thread for yourself under "Suggest books for me," rather than piggybacking on an old and Solved thread.
