Hey guys!!! Please comment on what you think the December BOTM (Book of the month) should be.

~Book Reviews by Trish~ (bookreviewsbytrish) Can we make it a certain genre for December instead? It makes it easier to recommend books from a specific genre.

Sure! That also makes it easier to pick a book. What were you thinking?

~Book Reviews by Trish~ (bookreviewsbytrish) maybe December be like Fantasy, then January can be romance or something

~Book Reviews by Trish~ (bookreviewsbytrish) So if we decide on Fantasy for December I will recommend Fractured Throne (Fractured Throne, #1) by Lee H. Haywood

~Book Reviews by Trish~ (bookreviewsbytrish) Rise of the Dragons (Kings and Sorcerers, #1) by Morgan Rice

this one looks pretty good and it is currently free on amazon

Vanessa | 4 comments For fantasy I recommend The False Prince by Jennifer Nielson. It is the first book of a trilogy so I hope that is ok.

Ariel (lamot_amant) | 3 comments Does the type of fantasy matter? Also, should our recs be new releases?

I'm hoping to get to The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch soon. It's the start of a series as well. The Final Empire by Brian Sanderson starts of his Mistborn series & looks very good. City of Stairs by Robert Jackson Bennet is also supposed to be very good & a great world-builder. Spinning Silver by Naomi Novak is a GR nominee so that might be a good one to try as well.

The Lies of Locke Lamora is about an orphan turned infamous thief living in Camorr, it's the first book in Lynch's Gentleman Bastards series. The Final Empire is high fantasy and Sanderson is supposed to be a world-building hero bc of the Mistborn series; it's about a ruined empire and whether magic can be reignited in order to save it. City of Stairs is more urban fantasy. I don't know much more about it than it's synopsis but am really excited to get to it bc I've heard great things. I also don't know much more about Spinning Silver but it sounds like a darker fairytale fantasy and I think it might resemble the style of the first book I read by Novik, Uprooted. Uprooted wasn't my favorite book but I do like Novik's style.

~Book Reviews by Trish~ (bookreviewsbytrish) Unfortunately I can't start the Dec. BOTM until middle december but I will try my hardest to get it done.
