I remember reading this novel very long back [Perhaps 2008]:

The story starts in a bar. During the drink, two groups start fighting and one guy is stabbed to death. Police arrests the friend of the deceased. However, this guy is actually innocent. The killer belongs to other group. So, the imprisoned seeks an advocate to get acquitted. The advocate finds it hard. He then takes the help of his father who is a retired judge. This combo finally proves the man behind bar is innocent. Also, the find the correct guilty as well.
